Abstract:

A high-energy high optic-optic efficiency 808-nm diode-end-pumped 1064-nm Nd:YVO4 picosecond master oscillator laser was demonstrated, and a 3x3x7 mm Nd:YVO4 crystal with a doped concentration of 0.5% was adopted. A maximum output power of 3.39 W was obtained with a pulse width of 16.3 ps and a repetition rate of 29.36 MHz under a pump power of 8.92 W, corresponding to an optic-optic efficiency of 38.0%. Compared to the previously reported picosecond master oscillator solid-state lasers, the optic-optic conversion efficiency of 38% is in the leading level among the reported lasers.
