Abstract:

The effect of boron on the microstructures, mechanical properties and abrasive wear resistance of white cast iron has been summarized. The microstructure and properties of B-bearing white cast iron, B-bearing high chromium cast iron and B-bearing low alloy white cast iron have been introduced in detail. The reasons that boron can improve the mechanical properties and abrasive wear resistance of white cast iron have been analyzed. At last, many problems that should pay attention to have been put forward in order to enlarge the application of B-bearing white cast irons.
