Abstract:
Composite shear wall with concrete filled steel tube columns is a new kind of composite shear wall. Experimental studies on the seismic behavior of two 1/4 scale high strength concrete shear wall models under low frequency circle load are done. One model is traditional reinforced concrete shear wall, the other is composite shear wall with concrete filled steel tube columns. Based on the experiment, load-carrying capacity, ductility, stiffness and its degradation, hysteretic property, energy dissipation and failure phenomena of each shear wall are contrastively analyzed. The formulas of load-carrying capacity are established. The results obtained from the formulas and those from experiment are in good agreement. The results show that the seismic behavior of high strength concrete composite shear wall with concrete filled steel tube columns has been developed evidently compared with the traditional reinforced concrete shear wall.
