Abstract:

As a part of the infrastructure for disaster mitigation emergency congregate shelter (DMECS), emergency signs are essential in the construction of the site, and play an important role in evacuating and resetting victims and reducing casualties. Firstly, the problems existing in the emergency sign system of the DMECS were analyzed. Secondly, taking the completeness, aesthetics, safety and safety-disaster combined as the principle of optimization design, through the questionnaire survey, both indicators and importance of affecting the design of emergency signs were determined to carry out the optimum design of emergency signs. Finally, taking new campus center of Taizhou middle school as an example, the overall optimization design of the emergency sign system of the DMECS was made from the aspects of size, type, height, color by combining with the disaster prevention types, functions and requirements of the DMECS, as well as local customs, culture, environment and so on. © 2018, Editorial Board of World Earthquake Engineering.
