Abstract:
This test researches 2 specimens under reversed cyclic loading, in which yielding firstly occurs at beam ends and shearing failure secondly occurs at joints. The experimental results of seismic performance , including the load -carrying capacity, failure behavior, hysteretic behavior, energy dissipation and ductility of the specimens, was achieved. Experiment shows that the process of the joints' failure is that the joint first is cracked, then yielding is generated at beam end, the joint produces fully cracking and reaches ultimate state and finally ends in failure. At ultimate load the displacement of the beam end due to the shear deformation in the joint core is about the 30 percent of its global deformation, the energy dissipation and ductility of the specimens are superior.
