Abstract:

Passive control technology is an effective method for earthquake disaster prevention of structures. It absorbs and dissipates vibration energy of structures by using control devices, which is quite different from traditional ways of strengthening the structural resistance by its own strength and stiffness. In this paper, present situation on application of the passive control technology in long-span spatial structures is summarized according to seismic isolation, energy dissipation and tuned vibration reduction, respectively. The related control measures and control performance are also introduced. Practical conclusions are made. The information given in this paper will provide good references for practical design of the long-span spatial structures and further promotes the development of control technology in the structures.
