Abstract:

The RC shear wall with two rows of steel bars usually is used for high-rise buildings. The RC shear wall with single row of steel bars is proposed for applying to multistory residence buildings by the authors. In order to. achieve the seismic performance of shear wall with single row of steel bars in bi-direction, the experiments were systematically carried out. In this paper, the general situation of experimental study on RC shear wall with single row of steel bars in bi-direction is introduced. And a comparison of the seismic performance between it and brick masonry shear wall is done. Based on the experimental study, the application fields of the RC shear wall with s'ingle row of steel bars in bi-direction are suggested, and its seismic construction measures are provided. Research abovementioned indicates that the RC shear wall with single row of steel bars in bi-direction is able to be used to multistory residence building.
