Abstract:
A LD-side-pumped Nd:YAG all-solid-state bidirectional voltage supplied Q-switched nanosecond laser is demonstrated. The laser cavity is a plane-to-plane linear cavity. Fundamental mode 1064 nm in center wavelength with pulse width tunable from 5ns to 20ns is obtained at the repetition rate of 500 Hz. When the pulse width is 6 ns, the average power is 2.31 W with divergent angle of 2.1 mrad, M2 ≤ 1.2 and the single pulse energy fluctuation is less than 1.16% in 1 hour operation. By using two different types of double-pass amplifier, 18.7 W and 24.4W output pulse are obtained with single pulse energy jitter less than 2.16% and 1.87%.
