Abstract:
The Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) networks provide high efficiency in various industries which became one primary and specific industrial control systems. The data encryption method is usually applied to current SCADA system to improve security. This paper proposes a new cryptographic key management scheme for SCADA networks with whitelist attribute. It is able to mitigate varied cyber-attack threats. The session key update and master key update protocol in this scheme reduces from three or two communications to one communication. From the evaluation result, the traffic and energy consumption of the session key update phase and master key update phase drop considerably, while the QoS increases in proposed scheme. © 2016.
