Abstract:

Normal low-rise RC shear wall has poor seismic performance, and improving its seismic performance is always attracted the attention of engineers and researchers. In this paper, some research results which improve seismic performance of the low-rise RC shear wall have been generalized, including slitted low-rise shear wall, low-rise shear wall with concealed bracings, low-rise shear wall equipped with energy dissipation device and composite low-rise shear wall. Based on it, a new type of energy dissipation shear wall has been proposed, preliminary experimental study of which has been conducted.
