Abstract:

Spine morphological analysis plays an important role in various medical purposes. However, the most conventional methods for the task employing radiography techniques cause considerable radiation damage to the patient and costs such high expense, which is not suitable for frequent examinations and treatments for certain groups of patient. Depending on the subjective analysis is also an obvious shortcoming of the methods. In this paper, we developed an innocuous spine morphological analysis method based on the surface asymmetry information of the patient's back, which causes no damage to the patient and provides a satisfying efficiency and low cost. © 2015 IEEE.
