Abstract:

In order to improve the facility utilization, this paper has analyzed park and ride behavior under multimode choice scenarios from the view of decision process. The analysis is based on the decision process theory and used computer simulation. By the analysis of one preference accumulative process of decision behavior, it is shown that there exist the tradeoff and comparison, preference reversal for multimode choice in the decision process. Then the effect of deliberation threshold and initial preference on park and ride choice behavior is discussed. The results show that some measures, such as providing park and ride facilities information service for travelers, reducing car dependence through a free transfer, will influence the decision process of travelers and make them to use park and ride facility.
