Abstract:

Ground horizontal motions may come from any direction because of the randomness of the ground motions, which may make the reinforced concrete (RC) columns damaged under the biaxial loadings. The method of focuing longitudinal bars on comer in the section was present in the paper to improve the seismic behavior of RC columns, and was verified by the low cycle reciprocal loading test. The test results indicate that the seismic behavior of RC columns with comer focus longitudinal bars in section can be improved greatly.
