Abstract:

As an advanced surface modification technique, laser cladding has many advantages, such as excellent performance of the laser coating, good bonding between the coating and the substrate, more options in materials, better flexible manufacturing capacity, and smaller heat-affected zone. In this paper, the process optimization in laser cladding and the composition adjustment of the iron-based wear- resistant coating were reviewed. The current problems and limitations were pointed out and the future work was also forecasted.
