Abstract:

Piston ring suffers from severe wear conditions and therefore coating technology was widely applied on the surface of piston ring in industry. This paper summarized the recent development on technologies and relevant materials of the wear-resistant coatings on piston ring. The wear mechanism was also analyzed and the progresses on the tribological tester were finally discussed.
