Abstract:

In heterogeneous wireless networks (HWNs), HWNs are formed by integration of different communication technologies, to support high QoS services anywhere and anytime. Joint call admission control (JCAC) is suitable for HWNs. An optimal JCAC strategy for HWNs based on new calls and handoff calls was proposed in this paper, to analyze the network resource utilization and the QoS parameters, and the algorithm of value iteration was improved by using multi-dimensional threshold structure. Finally, the performance of the proposed model was evaluated by simulations. Ths simulation results show that, it can provide high quality of service and minimize the cost, and the strategy has better efficiency and effectiveness in application. ©, 2015, Beijing University of Technology.
