Abstract:

In this paper, firstly, static experimental research on systemic seismic performance of long pier I-shaped column models is presented. With three wall width-depth ratios(4.0, 4. 5and 5.0), the 4 specimens with the 1/2 scale have been designed in two ways, in one way the column is reinforced by steels, and the other way the short pier shear wall is reinforced by steels. Secondly, seismic performance of the long pier I-shaped columns is discussed, which includes bearing capacity, stiffness, ductility, energy dissipation and hysteresis property. Thirdly, some seismic advice on design is provided.
