Abstract:

In this paper, based upon the experimental study on the seismic performance of three 1:2 scale T-shaped short pier walls with concealed bracings and three 1:2 scale general short pier shear wall, seismic performance of the T-shaped short pier shear walls with concealed bracings, which includes bearing capacity, stiffness and its attenuation, ductility, energy dissipation, hysteresis property and failure mechanism, is compared with that of the general T-shaped short pier shear wall. It shows that the concealed bracings are able to improve greatly the seismic performance of the T-shaped short pier shear wall.
