Abstract :

Microwave-assisted selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides (NOx) was investigated over Ni-based metal oxides. The NiMn2O4 and NiCo2O4 catalysts were synthesized by the co-precipitation method and their activities were evaluated as potential candidate catalysts for low-temperature NH3-SCR in a microwave field. The physicochemical properties and structures of the catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscope (SEM), N-2-physisorption, NO adsorption-desorption in the microwave field, H-2-temperature programmed reduction (H-2-TPR) and NH3-temperature programmed desorption (NH3-TPD). The results verified that microwave radiation reduced the reaction temperature required for NH3-SCR compared to conventional heating, which needed less energy. For the NiMn2O4 catalyst, the catalytic efficiency exceeded 90% at 70 C and reached 96.8% at 110 C in the microwave field. Meanwhile, the NiMn2O4 also exhibited excellent low-temperature NH3-SCR reaction performance under conventional heating conditions, which is due to the high BET specific surface area, more suitable redox property, good NO adsorption-desorption in the microwave field and rich acidic sites.

Abstract :

在CeO_2、TiO_2和La_2O_3修饰的催化剂中,Pt/Al_2O_3@TiO_2催化剂具有最好的三效...

Abstract :

In recent years, low-temperature SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) denitrification technology has been popularized in non-power industries and has played an important role in the control of industrial flue gas NOx emissions in China. Currently, the most commonly used catalysts in industry are V2O5-WO3(MoO3)/TiO2, MnO2-based catalysts, CeO2-based catalysts, MnO2-CeO2 catalysts and zeolite SCR catalysts. The flue gas emitted during industrial combustion usually contains SO2, moisture and alkali metals, which can affect the service life of SCR catalysts. This paper summarizes the mechanism of catalyst poisoning and aims to reduce the negative effect of NH4HSO4 on the activity of the SCR catalyst at low temperatures in industrial applications. It also presents the outstanding achievements of domestic companies in denitrification in the non-power industry in recent years. Much progress has been made in the research and application of low-temperature NH3-SCR, and with the renewed demand for deeper NOx treatments, new technologies with lower energy consumption and more functions need to be developed.

Promotion Effect of the Keggin Structure on the Sulfur and Water Resistance of Pt/CeTi Catalysts for CO Oxidation SCIE

Abstract :

Developing a catalyst with high SO2 and H2O resistance to achieve high-performance CO oxidation for specific industrial applications is highly desirable. Here, three catalysts were prepared using cerium titanium composite oxide (CeTi), molybdophosphate with Keggin structure-modified CeTi (Keg-CeTi), and molybdophosphate without Keggin structure-modified CeTi (MoP-CeTi) as supports, and their sulfur and water resistance in CO oxidation were tested. The characterization of XRD, BET, SO2/H2O-DRIFTS, XPS, TEM, SEM, NH3/SO2-TPD, H-2-TPR, and ICP techniques revealed that the high SO2 and H2O resistance of Pt/Keg-CeTi in CO oxidation was related to its stronger surface acidity, better reduction of surface cerium and molybdenum species, and lower SO2 adsorption and transformation compared to Pt/CeTi and Pt/MoP-CeTi.

Abstract :

In this paper, the preparation of V2O5-MoO3/TiO2-expanded graphite (EG) by different methods was investigated to enhance the H2O resistance in SCR reaction. The catalyst with doping of EG by high shear method showed the best SCR performance. BET, TEM, XPS, H-2-TPR, NH3-TPD and FT-IR were used to analyze the physicochemical characteristics of the prepared catalysts. The results indicated that TiO2 particles were distributed uniformly with EG by high shear method, which enhanced the surface area, increased Bronsted and Lewis acid sites and raised the VO2+ and adsorbed oxygen species on the surface. It was found that even with the addition of H2O (20 %) and SO2 at low temperature, the catalyst doping of EG by high shear method maintained about 90 % NO conversion. In addition, in-situ DRIFT spectra results showed that the NH3-SCR reaction over Cat-1 and Cat-2 followed the E-R and L-H mechanism, and the NH3 and NOx adsorbed species on the surface of Cat-2 possessed higher activity in SCR reaction than Cat-1.

Predicting metal-organic frameworks as catalysts to fix carbon dioxide to cyclic carbonate by machine learning SCIE

Abstract :

The process of discovering and developing new materials currently requires considerable effort, time, and expense. Machine learning (ML) algorithms can potentially provide quick and accurate methods for screening new materials. In the present work, the features of the metal organic frameworks (MOFs) as a catalyst for fixing carbon dioxide into cyclic carbonate were extracted to build a data set, which were collected from the experimental results of approximately 100 published papers. Classifiers were trained with the data set with various ML algorithms, including support vector machine (SVM), K-nearest neighbor classification (KNN), decision trees (DT), stochastic gradient descent (SGD), and neural networks (NN), to predict the catalytic performance. The ML models were trained on 80% of the data set and then tested on the remaining 20% to predict the carbon dioxide fixation ability. The trained ML model was extended to explore 1311 hypothetical MOFs, and some structures displayed a strong catalytic ability. Finally, the six best metal ions (Mn, V, Cu, Ni, Zr and Y) and four best ligands (tactmb, tdcbpp, TCPP, H3L) were determined. These six metals and four ligands could be combined into 24 MOFs, which are strongly potential catalysts for carbon dioxide fixation. Using machine learning methods can speed up the screening of materials, and this methodology is promising for application not only to MOFs as catalysts but also in many other materials science projects. Abstract :

Rare earth metals are strategic resources with potential applications in optics, metallurgy and catalysis. In recent years, single-atom site catalysts (SASCs) have attracted increasing attention owing to their 100% atom efficiency and unique catalytic performances. Over the past decade, rare earth elements, including rare earth metals and their oxides, have shown great potential in SASCs. However, systematic analyses of data are still handful. In this mini-review, the use of rare earth metals and their oxides in SASCs was summarized and the results are discussed. A particular focus was paid to the synthetic strategies, characterization of rare earth-containing SASCs, and applications as catalysis supports, promoters and active sites. Current issues faced by rare-earth metals and their oxides in SASCs, as well as future prospects were also provided. (C) 2020 Chinese Society of Rare Earths. Published by Elsevier B.V.
