Abstract :
It is paramount to ensure the resilience of networked critical infrastructures, which are vital for the economic development and our daily requirements but threatened by intentional attacks. For this purpose, their protection before and restoration after intentional attacks are of great significance. Moreover, in order to keep the prescribed demand continuously satisfied, postdisruption flow redistribution is also necessary. However, due to the severity of intentional attacks, certain components may need to be overloaded as a result of the redistribution and, thus, the network reliability is influenced. To minimize such influence, we first present a new metric of resilience to reflect the incurred reliability changes. Then, a trilevel optimization model integrating protection, restoration, and adaptive flow redistribution to maximize the network resilience is proposed. To deal with the complexity of the proposed problem, an evolutionary algorithm is employed with necessary adaption.

Abstract :
Nowadays, critical infrastructures are essential for the normal operation of economics and social life. Because of the increasing number of terrorist attacks and other accidents, research on strengthening infrastructure protection has become essential. Meanwhile, the operation of many types of infrastructures mainly relies on the configuration of networks. The interdependent infrastructure network (IIN), which is a network comprising multiple infrastructure networks with different functions under supporting relationships, is highly influenced by the interdependency structure of these networks and the protection strategy. To better understand the relation between the interdependency structure and protection in two phases on infrastructure resilience and analyze their influence on IIN performance, this study investigates the IIN in a community and proposes a joint optimization method for the two phases based on an incomplete-information game under the situation of intentional attacks. Employing the maximal-flow index (MFI) as the performance metric, a multi-objective planning approach is proposed for the joint optimization of interdependency structure and protection. Furthermore, an improved probabilistic solution discovery algorithm (PSDA) is developed to solve the planning model, and the joint optimization is analyzed using extensive experimentation, including three real-world infrastructure examples.

Abstract :
Recently, hybrid improper ferroelectricity in layered perovskites is becoming an effective way to expand the compositional palette to find new ferroelectrics. In the present work, the ground state, electronic structure, optical properties, effective carrier masses, ferroelectric polarization, and polarization switching pathways of the Ruddlesden-Popper perovskite chalcogenides Sr3B2X7 (B = Ti, Zr, Hf; X = S, Se) were thoroughly investigated by first-principles calculations. Some new hybrid improper ferroelectrics with the A2(1)am polar ground state, i.e., Sr3Zr2S7, Sr3Zr2Se7, Sr3Hf2S7, and Sr3Hf2Se7, were predicted by confirming the electric polarization induced from a trilinear coupling of octahedral rotation and tilting modes. The results showed that the ferroelectric photovoltaic-related properties such as band gaps and electric polarizations depend crucially on the amplitude of octahedral rotations and tilts of perovskite blocks. It was predicted that Sr3Zr2Se7 could be a good candidate for ferroelectric photovoltaic device applications by a systematical evaluation of ferroelectric photovoltaic properties of all hypothetical compounds.

Abstract :
Recently, perovskite ferroelectric photovoltaic materials have been studied extensively. Traditional photovoltaic device usually uses the internal electric field formed by PN junction to realize the separation of photogenerated carriers to form the photovoltaic effect, while ferroelectric material, due to the existence of spontaneous polarization, can spontaneously realize the separation of photogenerated electrons and holes without the formation of PN junction, presenting the ferroelectric photovoltaic effect. Chalcogenide perovskite with suitable band gap and visible light absorption is expected to be a new generation of ferroelectric photovoltaic materials. However, its application is limited due to the lack of ferroelectric properties. Hybrid improper ferroelectricity (HIF) in layered perovskites has opened a new way for developing the new ferroelectrics. In contrast to the proper ferroelectricity in which the polarization is the main order parameter as the driving force, the improper ferroelectricity possesses the ferroelectric polarization that becomes a secondary order parameter induced by other orders. In this work, we study the ground state, electronic structure and hybrid improper ferroelectricity of n = 2 Ruddlesden-Popper (RP) Sr3B2Se7 (B = Zr, Hf) based on the first principles. The total energy calculations and phonon spectrum analysis show that the ground state of Sr3B2Se7 (B = Zr, Hf) is of A2(1)am polar phase. The hybrid improper ferroelectricity originates from the coupling between two rotation modes of BSe6 octahedron. Electronic structure calculations show that Sr3Zr2Se7 and Sr3Hf2Se7 are semiconductors with direct band-gaps, which are around 1.56 eV and 1.84 eV, respectively. The ferroelectric polarization values calculated by the Berry phase method are around 12.75 mu C/cm(2) and 9.69 mu C/cm(2), respectively. The contribution of each atomic layer to the ferroelectric polarization is investigated when the Born effective charge method is used. The results show that the polarization of Sr3B2Se7 (B = Zr, Hf) mainly comes from the Sr-Se atomic layers. To sum up, Sr3B2Se7 (B = Zr, Hf) show strong ferroelectric polarization and good visible light absorption characteristics and they are expected to be candidates of a new generation of ferroelectric photovoltaic materials.

Abstract :
The Video game-Crowdsourcing model to recollect data motivates people to participate by entertaining them. Research showed that the solutions players make in this model are competitive against experts in the area. Yet, the studies in the area focus on mimicking people's behavior, including their mistakes. Therefore, we use a Video game-Crowdsourcing to model a problem of interest to find strategies for it. To describe matches from the video game we created, we designed a representation that simplifies the discovery of strategies. Our experimentation compares high score matches against low score ones to find the best behaviors. We played 13 matches employing a known strategy for the problem to validate the methodology. Then, we applied the methodology to matches from players. The results suggest that extracting sub-sequences is a process to find strategies and that we can use them to design algorithms to improve current algorithmic solutions for that problem.

Abstract :
Facility Location is a multi-objective optimization problem, where, given a set of demand centers, D, one is to determine how many facilities to open, in such a way that we satisfy the overall demand, while minimizing the sum of two types of costs: one associated to opening a facility, and the other to the distance from each demand center to the nearest facility that has been opened. There exist various techniques to solve it, including methods that are complete, and others that find a good solution, though not necessarily the optimal one. Current techniques, however, do not contemplate that there already is an initial configuration of the problem or that changes have occurred in the environment and so the existing solution must be adjusted to meet new requirements: they reformulate the optimization problem each time, starting from scratch. To fill in this gap, we introduce the adaptable Pareto set of the Facility Location Problem. In particular, we introduce a method that may apply either of two heuristics, namely: the incremental and the decremental heuristics, which deal with the case where it is necessary to increase (respectively, decrease) the number of facilities opened. To complete these heuristics, we provide a video game for crowdsourcing solutions to the adaptable Pareto set for the facility location problem; we have considered both cases, one where some facilities need to be added, and the other, where some facilities need to be removed. We have tested our two methods using the Swain dataset. Our experimental results show that our heuristics are competitive, when compared against both the optimal solution found through a complete method, and that approximated via a genetic algorithm. Further, our results show that video game players may obtain better solutions than those found heuristically, and that these solutions sometimes are similar to those found using a brute force algorithm.

Abstract :
Networked systems, such as telecommunications, transportation, and power transmission, are critical for the economic development and social well-being of a society and are required to keep the prescribed demand continuously satisfied. Therefore, when planning maintenance actions for such a system, the adverse influence on its reliability caused by the unavailability of the components in the process of being maintained needs to be taken into account. To deal with this problem, we propose a new bi-objective optimization approach to determine the Pareto optimal maintenance plans for a networked system, simultaneously maximizing its reliability within the concerned planning horizon and minimizing the total maintenance cost. Both perfect and imperfect maintenance actions are considered. The proposed approach can well balance the influence of maintenance actions on a networked system's reliability during their implementation and after being completed and, thus, can help ensure its reliability of continuously satisfying the prescribed demand.

Abstract :
Leveraging human insight and intuition has been identified as having the potential for the improvement of traditional algorithmic methods. For example, in a video game, a user may not only be entertained but may also be challenged to beat the score of another player; additionally, the user can learn complicated concepts, such as multi-objective optimization, with two or more conflicting objectives. Traditional methods, including Tabu search and genetic algorithms, require substantial computational time and resources to find solutions to multi-objective optimization problems (MOPs). In this paper, we report on the use of video games as a way to gather novel solutions to optimization problems. We hypothesize that humans may find solutions that complement those found mechanically either because the computer algorithm did not find a solution or because the solution provided by the crowdsourcing of video games approach is better. We model two different video games (one for the facility location problem and one for scheduling problems), we demonstrate that the solution space obtained by a computer algorithm can be extended or improved by crowdsourcing novel solutions found by humans playing a video game.

Abstract :
Phishing E-mail detection methods are mostly focused on the extraction of different E-mail features, which lead the time increasing. To solve this problem, a method based on density and distance was proposed. The method replaces the 42 original mail features with 2 new ones, i.e., features based on density and distance. Then the machine learning classification algorithm was used to detect phishing E-mail. The detection accuracy of the proposed method reaches 99.74%, and time is only 3.39 s, which is 1/20 of the traditional algorithm. Results show that the algorithm has a better detection performance and saves much time. © 2019, Editorial Department of Journal of Beijing University of Technology. All right reserved.

Abstract :
To study the seismic performance of assembled composite beam-precast column concrete frame structures with rebars lapping in pressed sleeve, quasi-static tests on two 1/2-scale assembled frame specimens with two story and two span were carried out for the failure modes, deformation capacity, load capacity and so on. The test results indicate that both the specimen designed as "strong column-weak beam" and the specimen designed as "strong beam-weak column" can achieve the expected failure modes. The lateral load-displacement hysteresis curves of the specimens are rounded; the minimum inter-story drift ratios of two specimens are 1/29 and 1/31, respectively, all the inter-story displacement ductility factors are greater than 4.0, indicating that the specimens have good ductility; the pressed sleeves can transfer the tensile and compressive force of rebars effectively; the non-linear analysis results of specimens using the finite element software MSC.MARC agree well with the experimental results, and the pushover analysis results show that the horizontal force-displacement curve of assembled specimen KJ1 is basically consistent with that of cast-in-place frame. The seismic behavior of assembled frames with rebars spliced by mechanical connection can meet the requirements in current codes, and the internal force, deformation and bearing capacity can be calculated according to the cast-in-place frame. © 2019, Editorial Office of China Civil Engineering Journal.
