Abstract :
Risk factors within the driver-vehicle-road system are dynamically coupled, with the driver being the most critical factor contributing to system destabilization. However, current traffic risk assessment models struggle to accurately measure the dynamic risk caused by the driver, limiting their applicability in increasingly complex driving environments. Based on the artificial potential field theory, the paper begins its investigation with the driver's risk perception-response mechanism, and incorporates the effects of risk gain and attenuation to develop a driving behavior dynamic risk quantification model (behavior field). This model is then superimposed with enhanced kinetic and potential fields to construct a real-time synthesized driving risk quantification model under the dynamic coupling of the driver-vehicle-road system, which is validated in various traffic scenarios. The results suggest that: (a) The driving behavior dynamic risk quantification model accurately represents the underlying risks during the driver's perception, judgment, and decision-making phases. It effectively captures the risk differences between different traffic scenarios and drivers, demonstrating high applicability and sensitivity. (b) The kinetic and potential fields that account for the risk diffusion effect are more consistent with the actual risk distribution characteristics. They can also efficiently represent the risk evolution patterns of influencing factors across diverse scenarios. (c) Compared with the conventional driving safety field and risk evaluation metrics (e.g., steering entropy, jerk, and time to collision), the synthesized driving risk real-time quantification model effectively captures the dynamic coupling of objective traffic environment risks and subjective driving behavior risks on a multidimensional spatiotemporal scale. It provides more robust risk prediction results (R2 = 0.988, root mean square error = 0.007). This research can provide a theoretical reference for the automatic analysis of comprehensive traffic risk and the development of more intelligent advanced driver assistance systems.

Abstract :
In this work, the deterioration mechanism of organic snowmelt salt on asphalt mastic in salt storage asphalt pavements was systematically investigated. The example of sodium formate snowmelt salt, the molecular models of asphalt mastic containing sodium formate snowmelt salt and its interface were established based on the experiments conducted on asphalt mastic. The impact of sodium formate on the thermodynamic properties and healing behaviour of asphalt mastic were studied from the microscopic perspective. The results showed that: (1) The addition of sodium formate snowmelt salt made the asphalt mastic viscous and hard, and while reduced the self-healing properties. (2) The asphalt mastic model, which was examined for density, solubility and free volume fraction, was able to clearly represent its thermodynamic properties. (3) The increase in the viscosity and modulus of the asphalt mastic containing salt could be possibly attributed to the reduction in the molecular diffusion rate and the increase in the aggregation level. (4) Since the hydrogen bonding, the sodium formate would form larger aggregates with the mineral powder, which could induce the decrease in the ductility. (5) Sodium formate also can lead to the asphaltene form a weak area of distribution near the interface and reduce the self-healing properties of the asphalt mastic. This research provides valuable insights for the analysis of the deterioration of asphalt pavements by snowmelt salts.

Abstract :
In order to explore the snow melting and anti-freeze performance of salt storage asphalt mixture (SSAM), the influence of salt, temperature, and soaking time on the adhesive property, deicing property, ice inhibition property, and long-term snow melting property of mixture was investigated by scratch, torsion, ice inhibition, and conductivity experiment, and the equation of salt dissolution and soaking time was established. The results showed that the ice surface torsion force of SSAM was less affected by temperature, and the change was only 1.1 N center dot M. SSAM achieves the effect that light snow is easier to dissolve and heavy snow is easier to remove. With the decrease in temperature, the ice inhibition grade of SSAM decreases gradually. The corresponding salt dissolution rate gradually decreases in the early, middle, and late stages, and the final amount of salt dissolution is 88.13%. Therefore, the evaluation methods of snow melting and anti-freeze performance are proposed, which could provide an important reference for the popularization and application of SSAM.

Abstract :
To study the variation of temperature field of cement concrete pavement on sunny days, the research was carried out based on the long-term monitoring data of test road. The sunny temperature data were screened by daily temperature amplitude and correlation coefficient. Taking the daily temperature change as the analysis unit and considering the annual cycle variation of the solar radiation angle, a sunny air temperature model was established. On this basis, considering the attenuation and hysteresis of heat transfer as well as the equilibrium of rising and cooling time along the road depth, the sunny temperature field model of cement concrete pavement was established. The results show that a statistical method based on the air temperature amplitude and correlation coefficient can effectively screen out sunny temperature data in measured data, and the road temperature field model established can accurately indicate the three-dimensional variation law of the temperature of cement concrete pavement with time and depth. The deviation analysis shows that the pavement temperature model reflects the diurnal and seasonal variation characteristics of the road temperature field. The research results can be used as the basis for the research on temperature fatigue stress of cement concrete pavement and the optimisation design of pavement structure.

Abstract :
In the progress of urbanization, serious crashes on curved sections of urbanization highway are a significant problem. The main reason is that urbanization highways have an impact on drivers' physiological status. In this paper, three road simulation scenarios were implemented in a driving simulator: 'non-urbanization highway', 'semi-urbanization highway' and 'urbanization highway'. Drivers' physiological features were studied by observing their heart rate growth rates. The results demonstrate that heart rate growth rate was significantly affected by the degree of urbanization of the highway. On curved segments of urbanization highway, heart rate growth rate changes and vehicle speed fluctuations were significant. Moreover, heart rate growth rates in the uplink direction of curves were higher than those in the downlink direction. Speed and heart rate growth rate were highly correlated. Within the same degree of urbanization highway, drivers' heart rate growth rates first decreased and then increased with increasing speed. A correlation model of the degree of urbanization, vehicle speed and heart rate growth rates is proposed and used to derive safety thresholds based on heart rate growth rate. The safety thresholds of heart rate growth rate were 7.6%, 22.0% and 37.0% at 'good', 'fair' and 'poor' levels, respectively. The main results provide a basis for identifying dangerous road sections and improving the driving comfort and safety of urbanization highways.

Abstract :
With the progress of science and technology, existing methods of surveying and safety auditing have been difficult to meet the increasing demands of people, so a new method is needed. First, by comparing and analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of different mapping techniques, we finally find that under the different demand conditions, the digital mapping technology which uses the UAV aerial mapping, total station, and 3D LIDAR on vehicle in collaboration with the GPS is more advanced, accurate, and practical. Then, with the method of HintCAD in collaboration with 3D Max to realize the digital visualization of road design, the designer can analyze the road design in 3D. Finally, a driving simulation is based on operating speed and human factors to audit the safety of road design, which can offer a truly people-oriented safety audit from the perspective of road users.

Abstract :
The properties of foamed asphalt cold recycling mixture (FACRM) will seriously affect the application performances of pavement structure made from FACRM. The results from this study suggest that FACRM has a high modulus and small temperature shrinkage stress, reducing early damage caused by pavement cracks. FACRM has good water stability but poor stability at high temperatures. The strength of the old subgrade, thickness of the FACRM and environmental temperature have significant effects on the performance of pavement structure. FACRM is ideally used as pavement material for light traffic, but not suitable for use as a surface layer for heavy traffic. (C) 2018 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Abstract :
In order to reduce traffic conflicts on cross-intensive roads, this paper proposes a new early warning system based on the active safety concept. The system collects real-time vehicle data using roadside sensors and transmits the results to drivers on the major road in a timely manner via roadside warning lights. In this research, the principles of the warning system are discussed in detail, including how the vehicle dynamics data arc collected and how potential collisions are identified and avoided. Through a driving simulation experiment, the speed prediction model after implementation of the warning system was examined. Results indicated that it can accurately identify the vehicle operating status, accurately guide driving behavior, and effectively reduce traffic conflict. To verify the reliability of the proposed warning logic and algorithm, numerical simulations were carried out via CarSim/Simulink cosimulation. The simulation results indicate that the proposed system enables drivers to perceive conflicting vehicles in advance, avoid the sudden braking phenomenon, and ensure safe driving.

Abstract :
With the same sources and regeneration techniques, given RA's properties may display large variations. The same single property index of different sets maybe has a large difference of the whole property. How shall we accurately evaluate the whole property of RA? 8 groups of RAs from pavement and building were used to research the method of evaluating the holistic characteristics of RA. After testing and investigating, the parameters of aggregates were analyzed. The data of physical and mechanical properties show a distinct dispersion and instability; thus, it has been difficult to express the whole characteristics in any single property parameter. The Euclidean distance can express the similarity of samples. The closer the distance, the more similar the property. The standard variance of the whole property Euclidean distances for two types of RA is S-k - 7.341 and S-k - 2.208, respectively, which shows that the property of building RA has great fluctuation, while pavement RA is more stable. There are certain correlations among the apparent density, water absorption, and crushed value of RAs, and the Mahalanobis distance method can directly evaluate the whole property by using its parameters: mean, variance, and covariance, and it can provide a grade evaluation model for RAs.

Abstract :
To quantize the property differences between construction recycled concrete aggregates (RCA) and pavement RCA, the quantitative analysis with Euclidian distance indicating the diversity of two sequences was carried on, based on the data of property trials that include apparent density, water absorption, crushing index value, etc. The Euclidian distance of single properties and variance of entire property for construction RCA were all greater than that of pavement RCA. Therefore, pavement RCA comes closer to the natural aggregates than construction RCA. Additionally, the entire property of pavement RCA is more stable than construction RCA. As a result, pavement RCA favors the application in project of higher requirements.
