The effect of in-situ ZrO2 on compressive properties of molybdenum-rhenium alloys and strengthening mechanism SCIE

Abstract :

Molybdenum-rhenium alloys has a low recrystallization temperature and insufficient high temperature strength, making it unable to serve as structural parts for a long time in high temperature environments above 1300 degrees C for a long time. ZrO2 dispersion strengthened Mo-Re alloy was prepared by liquid-liquid doping combined with hydrogen reduction. The morphology and distribution of ZrO2 were adjusted by liquid-liquid doping-coprecipitation-codeposition technology, with ZrO2 dispersed in the grain of Mo-Re alloy to refine the grain. The average grain size is reduced from 14.99 mu m to 8.41 mu m, and the yield strength is 539 MPa, representing an increase of 16.2 %. When the strain is 43 %, the high temperature compression performance at 1400 degrees C reaches 214 MPa, which is 28.1 % higher than that of Mo-Re. The enhanced performance is attributed to the dislocation pinning of ZrO2 and the formation of a semi-conformal interface between ZrO2 and the matrix, which addresses the issue of weak interfacial bonding to reinforce Mo-Re alloys. It provides a new idea for the design of Mo-Re alloys structural components such as space fission reactors fuel cladding in ultra-high temperature environment.

Abstract :

Zinc-ion hybrid capacitor (ZHSC) is recognized as a favorable energy storage device due to the combined advantages of battery-type anode and capacitor-type cathode. However, it still remains a huge challenge to achieve a high-specific-capacitance cathode without compromising the rate capability for high-performance ZHSC. Here, a three-dimensional hierarchical nitrogen and phosphorus co-doped reduced graphene oxide hydrogel (NPGH) is synthesized with small-sized graphene oxide precursors via one-step hydrothermal reduction and in-situ doping, which is firstly used as cathode for ZHSC without adding extra conductive additives and binders. In this case, small-sized graphene sheets can increase and shorten ions diffusion channels for the efficient utilization of active surface compared with commonly-used large-sized counterparts. Moreover, nitrogen and phosphorus co-doping can synergistically enhance the conductivity, provide additional active sites, and promote the adsorption of zinc ions, which is well demonstrated by electrochemical analysis, ex situ characterization and DFT theoretical calculation. Attributed to the synergy, NPGH-based ZHSC displays large specific capacitance (251.3 F g- 1 , 0.5 A g-(- 1) ), outstanding rate performance (79 %, 50 A g(-1)) and excellent cycle stability. This work proposes a novel strategy of tailoring rGO cathode by simultaneous size effect and doping engineering, which shows a great promise of constructing high-performance rGO based ZHSC.

Fabrication of Active Z-Scheme Sr2MgSi2O7: Eu2+, Dy3+/COF Photocatalyst for Round-the-Clock Efficient Removal of Total Cr SCIE

Abstract :

Photoreduction is recognized as a desirable treatment method for hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)). However, it has been limited by the intermittent solar flux and limited light absorption. In this work, a novel Z-scheme photocatalyst combining a covalent organic framework (COF) with Eu2+, Dy3+ co-doped Sr2MgSi2O7 (Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+, Dy3+) is synthesized, which shows the high spectral conversion efficiency and works efficiently in both light irradiation and dark for Cr(VI) reduction. Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+, Dy3+ serves as both an electron transfer station and active sites for COF molecule activation, thus resulting in 100% photoreduction of Cr(VI) (50 mL, 10 mg/L) with high light stability and over 1 h dark activity. Moreover, the XPS and FT-IR analyses reveal the existence of functional groups (Si-OH on Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+, Dy3+, and -NH- on COFTP-TTA) on the composited catalyst as active sites to adsorb the resultant Cr(III) species, demonstrating a synergistic effect for total Cr removal. This work provides an alternative method for the design of a round-the-clock photocatalyst for Cr(VI) reduction, allowing a versatile solid surface activation for establishing a more energy efficient and robust photocatalysis process for Cr pollution cleaning.

Preparation, Mechanical Properties and Strengthening Mechanism of W-Re Alloys: A Review SCIE

Abstract :

W-Re alloys are one of the most important refractory materials with excellent high-temperature performance that were developed to improve the brittleness of tungsten. In the present work, we firstly summarized the research progress on the preparation and strengthening methods of a W-Re alloy. Then, the strengthening mechanisms of the W-Re alloy were discussed, including the influence of Re, solid solution strengthening, second-phase reinforcement and fine-grain strengthening. The results showed that the softening effect of Re was mainly related to the transformation of the preferred slip plane and the introduction of additional d-valence electrons. Some transition elements and refractory metal elements effectively strengthened the W-Re alloy. Carbides can significantly enhance the high-temperature mechanical properties of W-Re alloys, and the reasons are twofold: one is the interaction between carbides and dislocations, and the other is the synergistic strengthening effect between carbides and Re. The objective of this work was to enhance the comprehension on W-Re alloys and provide future research directions for W-Re alloys.

High Entropy Oxides Modulate Atomic-Level Interactions for High-Performance Aqueous Zinc-Ion Batteries SCIE

Abstract :

The strong electrostatic interaction between high-charge-density zinc ions (112 C mm(-3)) and the fixed crystallinity of traditional oxide cathodes with delayed charge compensation hinders the development of high-performance aqueous zinc-ion batteries (AZIBs). Herein, to intrinsically promote electron transfer efficiency and improve lattice tolerance, a revolutionary family of high-entropy oxides (HEOs) materials with multipath electron transfer and remarkable structural stability as cathodes for AZIBs is proposed. Benefiting from the unique "cock-tail" effect, the interaction of diverse type metal-atoms in HEOs achieves essentially broadened d-band and lower degeneracy than monometallic oxides, which contribute to convenient electron transfer and one of the best rate-performances (136.2 mAh g(-1) at 10.0 A g(-1)) in AZIBs. In addition, the intense lattice strain field of HEOs is highly tolerant to the electrostatic repulsion of high-charge-density Zn2+, leading to the outstanding cycling stability in AZIBs. Moreover, the super selectability of elements in HEOs exhibits significant potential for AZIBs.

目前,开发绿色高效的重金属吸附材料受到人们的广泛关注.以硅藻土为原料,经水热法选择性地制备了2类硅酸盐材料即麦羟基硅钠石和方沸石.吸附测试结果表明,麦羟基硅钠石层间的钠离子能够与锂离子、镁离子、锌离子、钴离子、镍离子、铜离子等进行阳离子交换且能保持层状母体框架的稳定性.以钴离子、镍离子为例深入研究其吸附动力学和吸附机制发现,钴离子和镍离子的嵌入分别将麦羟基硅钠石的层间距由本征的1.56 nm减小到0.24、0.23 nm;室温下,对钴离子、镍离子的最大吸附量分别可达45、39 mg/g,均符合Langmuir单层吸附模型;钠离子的置换量大约是吸附的钴离子、镍离子量的两倍,证实层间离子交换主导吸附化学过程.因此,麦羟基硅钠石材料在多金属硅酸盐功能材料的合成以及环境吸附净化领域具有较大的应用潜力.

钼及其合金具有优异的高温力学性能,被广泛应用于冶金、机械、化工、航空和核工业等领域.粉末冶金是钼合金的主要制备方法.通过固溶强化、第二相强化、细晶强化等多种强化手段可以提高钼合金的力学性能,从而拓宽钼合金的应用范围.本文介绍了粉末冶金制备钼合金的研究进展,包括粉体制备方法、压制工艺及坯体烧结工艺等,讨论了钼合金的强韧化方法及其机理,并展望了粉末冶金法制备钼合金的发展方向,以期对钼合金的设计和制备提供一些思路.

硅渣基高可溶性硅矿物材料制备及性能研究

以硅渣为原料,引入NH4OH、KOH和CaO碱性组分,通过水热法制备有效释放可溶性硅的K8CaSi10O25/硅渣矿物材料.利用扫描电子显微镜(SEM)和X射线衍射(XRD)仪等对样品进行形貌和结构表征.研究了水热反应时间对产物可溶性硅浸出率的影响规律.结果表明,水热反应后,微米级硅渣块体表面负载了具有弯曲薄片状纳米结构的K8CaSi10O25,改性后的硅渣矿物的枸溶性硅为1197.5 mg/L,浸出率较原始硅渣提高了约60倍,水溶性硅为519.8 mg/L,浸出率较原始硅渣提高了约50倍.

微波烧结制备钨锇混合基扩散阴极及其发射性能

Abstract :

采用固–液混合法制备出不同锇(Os)含量(原子数分数)的亚微米级钨锇混合粉体,通过微波烧结获得了孔道结构均匀的钨锇混合基扩散型阴极。电子发射测试结果表明,元素Os的加入使浸渍型钨基阴极的发射性能有明显提高。对比不同锇含量的混合基阴极,发现W-25Os阴极(Os原子数分数为25%)具有相对较低的逸出功和较高的发射电流密度,其在1100℃时脉冲发射电流密度为42.86 A·cm~(-2),斜率为1.40,发射电流密度是同等工作条件下传统钡钨阴极的1.7倍,达到了覆膜M型阴极的电子发射水平。W-25Os混合基阴极的有效逸出功最低为1.93 eV,有利于活性自由钡(Ba)的生成,表层元素摩尔比Ba:(W+Os)为0.83:1.00,比传统钡钨阴极中Ba:W(约为0.50:1.00)摩尔比有了明显提高。

Enhanced secondary electron emission properties of Zn doped MgO thin films prepared by aerosol assisted chemical vapor deposition SCIE

Abstract :

In this study Zn doping was applied to MgO thin films in order to improve the secondary electron emission (SEE) property via relieving the surface charging and modifying the electron structure of MgO. MgO and Mg1-xZnxO thin films (the Zn doping proportion x is within 11 at.%) were prepared on Si substrates by a simple, cost effective aerosol assisted chemical vapor deposition method followed by annealing at elevated temperature. The surface morphology and microstructure of the Mg1-xZnxO films were characterized. Secondary electron yield (o) as a function of primary electron energy the films was examined. First principles calculation based on the density functional theory was introduced to evaluate the electronic structure and work function of Mg1-xZnxO crystals. SEE testing results revealed that o of the MgO film is effectively improved by Zn doping of proper concentration. The undoped MgO film with relatively smooth surface exhibits a maximum secondary electron yield (om) of 5.1 at Ep of 750 eV. The om of the Mg1-xZnxO film (x = 0.09) is 7.0 at Ep = 1500 eV, which is 34.6% higher than that of the MgO film prepared under identical method. Improvement of o of the Mg1-xZnxO films with x < 0.1 is probably due to the unique surface morphology with protrusions and sharp edges and the increase of electrical conductivities of the films. Another factor contributing to the o increase is the decrease of work function due to Zn doping, which is confirmed by first-principles calculation of Mg1-xZnxO crystals.
