探讨了选取人工神经网络的误差反向传播（ＢＰ）模型应用于智能监控的优点；讨论了将其应用于制造系统的监控和诊断时应注意的问题；提出了旨在提高ＢＰ模型应用效能的方法即“最有效特征量原则”和“分步式”诊断流程。
