Abstract:
Comparing with the identification results based on single type of measurement data, data fusion of different kinds of measurements from available multi-sensor monitoring system facilitated for more accurate identification results. To make full use of the acceleration and strain measurements for structural damage detection, with the established relationship between displacement and strain modes, the hybrid mode based on the two corresponding modes was theoretically derived, and a structural damage detection method based on the hybrid mode was proposed. The method adopted the frequency and mode shape of the hybrid mode to build the objective function, meanwhile, three optimization algorithms, namely, gradient algorithm, genetic algorithm and particle swarm optimization algorithm were applied as the optimization method for structural damage detection. Numerical simulation studies of a simply supported beam and a two-dimensional frame under different sensor placement scenarios were carried out to investigate the improvement of the proposed method. The results showed that the method exhibited good noise robustness and the hybrid mode based on different types of measurements was beneficial to improve the accuracy of identification results. © 2022 Science Press.
