Abstract:

Structural damages are identified by the technique of structural optimization. In the damaged region, elemental damage indexes are selected as design variables, local strain mode difference between undamaged and damaged structure is minimized. The structural identification model is solved by the series linear programming. The solution is the distribution of elemental damage indexes in the damaged region. Numerical simulation indicated that the proposed method could locate damages and estimate damage degree correctly.
