Abstract:
An axisymmetrical analytical solution of vertical dynamic impedance for vibration of an end-bearing pile in a saturated viscoelastic soil was obtained by employing decomposition theory of differential operator and considering mixed boundary condition of pile-soil interfaces to solve Boer's dynamic equations on porous medium. Its validity was then verified by comparing special case of our model with the existing result. Effects of liquid-solid coupled coefficient, length-radius ratio of pile, modulus ratio of pile-soil, and viscous damping coefficient of soil on the obtained impedance of pile cap were discussed by parametric comparative analyses. The numerical results show that employing Boer's porous medium model and Biot's theory to describe the saturated soil respectively has little influence on resonance frequencies of the pile-soil system. Especially, the derived solutions based on them are consistent in low-frequency range, but in high-frequency range, the resonant amplitudes of the solution based on Biot's theory are overestimated. The above-mentioned parameters have significant effects on the dynamic impedance of the pile cap. © 2016, The Editorial Board of Journal of Basic Science and Engineering. All right reserved.
