Abstract:
Municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) process is complex physical and chemical reactions with strong coupling and nonlinear characteristics. In addition to the main operating factors such as combustion airflow and waste feeding speed, the combustion status of solid waste is also affected by many other parameters, such as composition, micro, and reaction. In this article, the numerical modeling and sensitivity analysis of solid phase combustion in the grate based on benchmark operational condition is carried out for a MSWI power plant in Beijing. First, the mechanism of solid phase combustion in the grate of a MSWI process is analyzed. Then, the benchmark condition of the incineration plant is determined, that is, the values of common operating variables (feeding, primary airflow, secondary airflow, and grate speed) used in the actual MSWI plant. Finally, the influence of parameters on the MSWI process is analyzed based on the benchmark condition. © 2023 IEEE.
