Abstract:
The La(Fe11.2Co0.7Si1.1)B0.25 alloy ingot was crushed into small particles with diameters less than 1 mm, and the particles were further milled in a planet ball grinder for 1 h, 1.5 h and 2 h. The spark-plasma sintering (SPS) technique was adopted to fabricate the sintered samples at 1070°C for 1 h. The phase composition, microstructure and magnetocaloric properties were examined by XRD, SEM and VSM. The results show that the cure temperatures of the sintered samples decrease, the adiabatic temperatures and isothermal magnetic entropy changes rise with the increasing of milling time.
