Abstract:

Based on the speed survey of 22 tangent segments of two-lane highway, the relation of roadside clear zone and operating speed was obtained. Then, the model of influence of clear zone on the fiducial operating speed was built. The relations of operating speed, fiducial speed and the interval between the edge of the road and the street buildings were studied using R language program. The model of the influence of roadside development on operating speed was built based on the results using statistical regression analysis. The results show that operating speed has a logarithm relation with clear zone. Operating speed has close relation to the interval between the edge of the road and the street buildings, however, it has poor relation to the fiducial speed.
