Abstract:

On the basis of the analysis of domestic and international asphalt pavement design theory and rut forecast model, it is proposed that rut should be given as a control index in the design process in order to reduce the early damage of the asphalt pavement. Then an example is given in the form of a forecast in the whole process, After analyzing the result, it is shown that the road is beyond the control of the early damage as the only design index is deflection. So it is proposed that the Asphalt Pavement Design Standards should take in the rut as an index. It is expected that asphalt pavement design theory can be improved and the asphalt pavement can have a relatively long life expectancy.
