Abstract:
A Fe-based cored wire was used to deposit coatings containing Fe-based amorphous phase on the Q235 steel substrate by arc spraying. The microstructure of the coating was investigated by optical microscopy. Scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis were used to study the phase composition in the coating. The coating contains Fe-based amorphous phase, the fraction of amorphous phase was calculated by fitting Pseudo-Voigt function to diffraction peak of XRD. The coating has homogenous laminated microstructure and contains only a little micro-pores, and it has high hardness and exhibited good wear resistance, the microhardness values were between HV900-1050, the relative wear resistance is 12.2 times more than Q235 steel under the same test condition. The main wear mechanism is brittle flaking-off.
