Abstract:

By analyzing the drawing stress of flux core wire (FCW), a new model for the calculation of the drawing force for FCW was formed. The factors that influence drawing force were also discussed. Mechanical properties of the steel strip, deformation of FCW, the hole size of dies, drawing speed, friction and lubrication conditions have obvious effects on the drawing stress. The drawing stress increases with the speed rise at low speed. At moderate speed the drawing stress decreases. The drawing stress would not change when the speed increases further.
