Abstract:

Numerical and experimental analysis on heat-storage and discharge characteristic in a heat-storage tank filled with form-stable PCM was described. With the numerical analysis, the effects of size of PCM, thermal conductivity of PCM, velocity of heat transfer fluid, heat transfer coefficient, filling rate of PCM on heat-storage and discharge characteristics were discussed. The temperature distribution of the heat-storage tank was obtained by numerical analysis. The initial temperature of the heat-storage tank, inlet and outlet temperature of heat transfer medium and the temperature distribution of PCM were tested. The simulated results and experimental results agree well with the experimental results.
