Abstract:
Argumentation-based negotiation, which adds argumentation into the common automated negotiation model, is new intelligent negotiation format. In argumentation-based negotiation, agent can change the opponent's preferences and goals with argumentation by offer the reason why a proposal may be accepted or promise some negotiation behavior. And thus it become the most active and most vibrant one in the automated negotiation area. In this paper, we introduce the definition, research points and application domain of argumentation-based negotiation, and then summarize the main achievements and the latest progress in the area of negotiation protocol, negotiation strategy and generation, selection and evaluation of argumentation. At last, we survey and evaluate existing proposed techniques in the literature and highlight the major challenges that need to be settled within this research area. ©2010 IEEE.
