Abstract:
The development of a new piezoelectric material, 0.5.wt.%MnO2-addcd (Pb0.95Sr0.05)((Zn1/3Nb2/3)(0.20)(Zr0.50Ti0.50)(0.80))O-3 Ceramics (PZNST), optimized for use in multilayer piezoelectric transformer application is described. The requirements to such a material are high mechanical quality factor of Q(m), electromechanical coupling factor of k(p), Curie temperature of T-c and low dielectric dissipation factor of tandelta, and at the same time a relative low sintering temperature. The dielectric and piezoelectric properties of the new developed material, PZNST, have been investigated on different sintering temperature (900-1100 degreesC). The pure perovskite phase was formed by the columbite precursor method. The optimum values of Q(m), k(p), tandelta, epsilon(r), T-c and d(33) were 1360, 0.62, 0.002, 1240, 320 degreesC and 325 pC/N, respectively, at calcination of 850 degreesC and sintering of 1000 degreesC temperature.
