Abstract:
We present the results of a study of a model rolling tribosystem with ceramic balls making a point "ceramic-steel" contact with a flat movable thrust ring under dry rolling friction and under lubrication. The results of laboratory tribotechnical tests enabled a comparative assessment of the wear rate of hybrid "steel-ceramics-steel" model rolling tribosystems with balls made of different ceramic materials. We ranked the studied material in terms of efficiency and improved the technology of rolling elements for hybrid ball bearings. We manufactured prototype hybrid bearings that undergo bench durability tests.
