Abstract:
As one type of Advanced High Strength Steel(AHSS), boron B1500HS steel is widely used in engineering, especially in automotive industry. In order to study the fatigue performance of B1500HS in the delivery state and after quenching, the experiment studied two kinds of specimens -the quenched and unhardened specimens-by grouping test and staircase test. Axial loading was applied by high frequency fatigue testing machine under stress ratio R= 0.1 at room temperature. The boron B150OHS steel's linear S-N relationships of the two different states are obtained by grouping fatigue test. The fatigue limits are obtained by staircase test. The test results show that there is no obvious diversity analyzed by British standard and pairing staircase method. The fatigue limit of the quenched boron B1500HS steel is about 630Mpa, and the unhardened is about 505Mpa. The fatigue limit of the quenched boron B1500HS steel is higher than the unhardened about 125MPa. The consequences of this test could provide a theoretical support for the use of B1500HS in engineering and the research of fatigue limit theory.
