Abstract:
The inter-relation among energy, economy, and environment has been a great concern in our society. This paper made an investigation on the relationship between energy consumption structure and the output value of the three major industries, by using the gray relative analysis method. Results indicate that the energy consumption structure has significant influence on economic growth. China's energy consumption is still dominated by coal, and other non-renewable energy consumption is also popular. That mean the fossil-fuel consumption contributes most to the CO2 emission. Therefore, it is important to decouple the energy consumption, improve energy efficiency, and use the renewable energy to reduce the impact of CO2 on economic growth. Government should not hesitate to take the "low-carbon economy" way, adjust the energy structure, exploit and use new energy.
