Abstract:

The Fabry-Pérot (F-P) cavity structure has drawn wide interest because of its ability to tune a variety of bright colors. However, the too strong interference effect generated results in a much high color saturation with a little adjustable range, not suitable for some applications with delicate display. In this paper, cavity designs with semiconductors (Si and GST) and metal (Al) as the base were discussed and it demonstrated that the F-P interference effect occurs not only on highly reflective metals but also on semiconductors. The study provides a novel idea for the color display of F-P structure. © 2023 SPIE.
