Abstract:
ith the social economy gradual transformating to green and sustainable, the odor pollution in the process of road asphalt paving has become an environmental problem that cannot be ignored. In this study, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)and gas detector were used for qualitative and quantitative analysis of volatile substances produced by eight asphalt materials. On this basis, combined with the odor threshold, the odor activity value(OAV)of each substance was calculated, and odor emissions of road asphalt was analyzed by the method of the sum of the odor activity value(SOAV),and the odor contribution of each component and its odor pollutants was further analyzed. The results show that there is no positive correlation between the volatile concentration of asphalt and the sum of the odor activity values, and the volatile concentration and the sum of the odor activity values of asphalt modified by rubber powder are significantly higher than those of other asphalt. The analysis of the odor characteristics of eight different kinds of road asphalt materials shows that six components contribute to the odor of asphalt, among which benzene series, aldehydes and hydrogen sulfide contribute more to the odor, olefin and ketone are special odor contributing components in the volatile of rubber powder modified asphalt. © 2024 Cailiao Daobaoshe/ Materials Review.
