Abstract:

A compact fiber-coupled diode-pumped electro-optically Q-switched Nd: YVO4 laser is reported. Through theoretical analysis and experimental research, we determine the Nd: YVO4 laser structure and its parameters. Both theoretical analysis and experiment data demonstrate that subnanosecond pulses can be produced with electro-optically Q-switched technique. The cavity length is effectively reduced to 20 mm to narrow the pulse width. Stable pulses are obtained at 1-100 Hz, the pulse width is narrower than 600 ps and the single pulse energy is more than 0.42 mJ, M2 is 1.7 and the stability is ±3%.
