Abstract:
Fe-Cr-C abrasive wear resistant layers were prepared on Q235 steel by submerged arc welding. The abrasive wear resistance of the layers was evaluated by an MLS-225 grain-abrasion test machine. The abrasive wear mechanism was studied according to the analysis on of surface topography by the micro examination and energy spectrum analysis. The results indicated the wear mechanism of Fe-Cr-C abrasive wear resistant layer was mainly attributed to the exfoliation caused by micro crack. The desquamation was closely correlated with the carbide. Energy spectrum analysis indicated that the Cr content in the crater-like pits was inosculated with the Cr content in (Cr, Fe)7C3, which proved that carbide rupture caused crater-like pits.
