Abstract:

Fe-based amorphous coatings were prepared on mild carbon steel substrate by arc spraying. Microstructure and properties of coatings were investigated by XRD, SEM, TEM and micro-hardness meter, and wear resistance of coatings was investigated by wet sand/rubber wheel abrasive wear tester. The experiment results show that the coating has homogenous laminated microstructure and contains only a little micro-pores and oxides. The coating has high hardness and wear resistance. The microhardness is between 900-1000 HV100g, and the relatively wear resistance is 13 times than Q235 steel under the same experimental condition.
