Abstract:
The cooling and freezing process of water droplet in cold air was investigated through experiment and numerical simulation. In our experiment, the water droplet was adhered to the conjunction of a thermocouple and put in the cold air. The temperature of the water droplet was measured; the phenomenon was observed by a microscope. Dynamic model of water phase change has been put forward. Simulation results based on this model agree with the experimental measurements.
