Abstract:
To select appropriate cutting parameters and define the depth in residual stress measurement by stripping layer method, machining residual stress distribution is studied under various cutting parameters by X-ray method. And the effects of cutting parameters such as cutting speed, feed rate and cutting depth on machining residual stress were analyzed. The experiment results show that cutting parameters affect the distribution of machining residual stress at a certain extent. And every parameter shows different effect on stress. Cutting depth mainly affects the distribution depth of residual stress. With cutting depth increasing, the latter increases. When cutting depth is separately 0.25 mm and 0.75 mm, the distribution depth of residual stress becomes 0.2 mm and 0.8 mm respectively. The feed rate and speed affect the surface residual stress largely. And the surface tensile residual stress increases linearly with the increasing of the feed rate and speed.
