Abstract：

In　this　paper,　the　development　history　of　metamaterials　(MTMs)　and　Frequency　selective　surfaces　(FSS)　was　sketched,　and　the　two　conception　was　discussed.　Furthermore,　state　of　the　art　of　both　terms　was　introduced　and　the　prospective　was　predicted,　and　the　idea　of　electromagnetic　lattice　was　proposed.　©　2018　ACES.
