Abstract:

Surface irrigation is the most widely used cropland irrigation method in the world. In the arid and semi-arid regions of our country, the border irrigation and furrow irrigation of surface irrigation techniques are used widely. The major factors which influence the effect of surface irrigation are found by quantizing observation in the different periods of the entire surface irrigation, which provide the scientific evidence for improving the water quality of surface irrigation. It is a trend that surface irrigation system is evaluated and designed properly by making a numerical simulation toward the process of surface irrigation. It is the SRFR software, which is created by the Arid Agriculture Research Centre of American Agriculture Department, that is used the most widely and representatively in the present surface irrigation simulation software. This article mainly focused on the application of the WinSRFR software in surface irrigation evaluation and design system, which is on the basis of introducing the relevant factors and its field test briefly in the surface irrigation evaluation and design. © 2011 IEEE.
