Abstract:

Culture medium's entrying and sterilizing process has the characteristics of nonlinearity, long time lag, big inertia, with lots of influencing factors and control complexity. So it is very difficult for the conventional PID controller to control the process. In most ferment factories, the process was controlled manually. It has the disadvantages of high labor intensity and low accuracy of temperature control. Therefore, the paper applies feed-forward control and self-tuning fuzzy-PID control to the entrying and sterilizing process, and a satisfying automatic control has realized in a pharmaceutical factory's culture medium's entrying and sterilizing process. The results of the control show that the controller built in the paper can improve control accuracy and shorten the system response time, avoid the occurrence of bacteria contaminating and increase fermentation unit. The temperature accuracy in the balance state is ± 0.5°C. © 2006 IEEE.
