Abstract:

Different characteristic features of scandate-type cathode with sub-micron structure Sc2O3 doped tungsten bodies, were investigated. The scandia doped tungsten powders were made by using liquid-solid doping and liquid-liquid doping. The doped tungsten powders were pressed and sintered into porous bodies and then impregnated with 411 barium calcium aluminates. The result shows that improved pressing, sintering and impregnating procedures help to obtain scandate cathodes with sub-micron framework porous bodies.
