Abstract:
This paper proposes a novel motor integrated eddy-current braking and heating, which is a novel efficient braking energy recovery system for electric bus. The system is designed to solve the problem of the dramatic decline of driving range when heating the bus cabin in winter. A braking control strategy based on fuzzy control is proposed. A simulation platform is built in the MATLAB/Simulink environment. There is a 9.8% decrease in the electricity consumption of fuzzy braking strategy with normal strategy. The heating time to reach 20 degrees C by the proposed strategy is only 60s, however the time by the normal strategy is 700s.
